ក្រុមប្រឹក្សាភិបាលទេសចរណ៍ហុងកុង (HKTB) និង eTurboNews have been in contact regarding the ongoing situation with protests in the city. The HKTB wishes to assure visitors that Hong Kong remains a safe destination.
The Tourism Board is encouraging travelers to contact HKTB to find out information about the city by visiting their website which provides updates every 60 seconds. There is also a link to connect daily to a Live Chat from 9 am to 6 pm, Hong Kong time.
Airport Express Update
Beginning Saturday, September 7, at 0900 hours, Airport Express services will only operate between Hong Kong Station and the airport and will not stop at any station en-route. Access control measures are being taken at terminals, and visitors are advised to arrive 3 hours before their departure for proper checks.
In the most recent update from the Hong Kong Tourism Board website, the Transport Department announced it has launched the “HKeMobility” mobile applications for disseminating the latest traffic news. For major incidents, messages will also be sent through “GovHK Notifications.” Please download from Google Play or the App Store.
Special Traffic News
To facilitate Special Measures for Transport Services Connecting the Airport, all “E” routes buses heading to the airport or AsiaWorld-Expo departing from bus terminuses in the city after 1030 hours will terminate at Tung Chung. City-bound “E” routes bus service starting from the airport or AsiaWorld-Expo will remain normal routings. Passengers travelling to the airport by bus are advised to take the “A” routes and stay tuned to traffic information.
Passengers are advised to allow sufficient time to travel to the airport.
The slow lane of Lung Cheung Road Kwai Chung bound near Beacon Heights which was closed due to traffic accident is re-opened to all traffic. Traffic queue takes time to disperse.
The fast lane of Island Eastern Corridor Central bound near Provident Centre which was closed due to vehicle breakdown is re-opened to all traffic. Traffic queue takes time to disperse.
Due to fire , all lanes of Wan Chai Road both bounds between Tin Lok Lane and Wood Road are still closed to all traffic.
Affected bus routes have been diverted.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
To facilitate the access control arrangements at the airport, Airport Express service has been adjusted, until further notice:
- Airport Express is running between Airport and Hong Kong stations only, at 10-minute intervals;
- Trains will not stop at Kowloon, Tsing Yi and AsiaWorld-Expo stations; and
- AsiaWorld-Expo Station is temporarily closed.
The In-town Check-in service at Kowloon Station is suspended, while the In-town Check-in service at Hong Kong Station will close 90 minutes before passengers’ scheduled flight departure time.
Longer waiting time can be expected. Please plan your journey accordingly.
Some of the damaged facilities in Prince Edward, Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei stations have been repaired and the Entrances are gradually reopened.
However, because some of the damaged facilities will take longer to repair, passengers please follow station staff advice of MTRCL and might need more time to use the limited working facilities.
Due to emergency repairing works, the following road sections are closed:
– The slow lane of Shenzhen Bay Bridge southbound between CH0.2 and CH0.7
– The slow lane of Shenzhen Bay Bridge northbound between CH0.85 and CH0.35
Due to emergency repairing works , the fast lane of Tai Chung Kiu Road Ma On Shan bound near City One Shatin is closed to all traffic. Only the middle and slow lanes are still available to motorists.
Due to road situation, the following sections of road are still closed to all traffic:
– All lanes of Tim Wa Avenue (both bounds).
