After the success of the first edition, with 30,000 visitors, the second edition of Outdoor Expo from March 1-3, 2019 was successfully renewed.

Organized by BolognaFiere, the event animated by a wide range of outdoor sports activities and a rich national and international tourist offer specialized in on open air destinations attracted 180 exhibitors spread over 20,000 square meters.

Visitors have had the opportunity to discover new technological equipment for outdoor activities, thanks to the partnership with the Italian Outdoor Group, Assosport (the National Sport Association), which has exhibited the best national and international brands with new products available for testing in a dedicated area of 400 square meters with paths very similar to the external ones, reproduced with natural materials such as stones, wood, and grass.

Visitors have seen the performance of the latest sports equipment, particularly the one related to terrestrial hiking and water sports. The special representative of the Ministry of Defense chose Outdoor Expo as a privileged moment to tell how the military bodies live the natural elements, providing different experiences in contact with air, water, and land.

It was a program full of performances and high-level conferences on the themes of outdoor tourism and sports in all its facets. The area dedicated to the nautical sector was also strengthened, as part of the vast exhibition offering dedicated to the underwater world, represented by the 27th edition of the Eudi Show.

The “European exhibition of underwater activities,” the most important event for operators in the sector for industries and for enthusiasts organized by SEI and Assosub, were also present with a large kayak and stand-up paddle pool.

Performances of the highest level were presented with competitions of international athletes during the Boulder Italian Cup climbing competition and the Electric Bike Cross (EBX) Championship stage, including the Italian Trickline Championship, a spectacular freestyle version slackline, and the Italian Championship of Calisthenics, the fascinating fitness discipline with incredible free-body evolutions.

The Outdoor Expo Forum is the pulsating heart of the meetings industry with prominent personalities and themes inspired by sports and tourism. Important guests of the three-day fair included Manolo and Paolo Cognetti who, following the recent publications of their books, have elaborated the themes on “Solitude in the mountains,” Maurizio Di Palma, well-known base jumper and performer, David Michael Canterbury, an expert on survival in the United States who is featured in specialized programs on the National Geographic Channel, and Giovanni De Gennaro, an Olympic athlete and world canoe champion.

The Ministry of Defense area was characterized by experience with gymnastic sport routes to reproduce a ground training of the Italian Army, the Navy’s sailing boat simulator, the new interactive “Typhoon” flight simulator the “Air Force,” and the nature village of the Arma dei Carabinieri, which tells the world of biodiversity.

“We believe that this event is an opportunity for companies of great value in order to undertake direct contact with their customers within an excellent exhibition context. The immediate success of the first edition confirms its strategic positioning in the Italian trade fair scene with a range of sporting disciplines and specialized tourism promotion to date unmatched,” said Marco Momoli, BolognaFiere sales manager.

Outdoor Expo is the unmissable event for companies, industry professionals, media, enthusiasts, and practitioners (both agonists and amateurs), with a particular focus on activities, recreational entertainment, and tourist offers designed for the “outdoor family.”

The themes of the Outdoor Expo ranged from travel to experience, passing through the expo and the community.
